Klaus Voormann: „55 years ago today, Instant Karma was released. How instant can you get?! All on the same day: Write the song, record it, mix it—with choir and everything—and cut the vinyl! And for me, it was the first time seeing the amazing Phil Spector in action. When the backing track was finished, we were asked to come into the control room. Lights were flashing, and the room was filled with a whole bunch of recording machines. Phil pressed the “go” button and turned the volume up full throttle. John and Yoko were holding on to each other, and the band was pressed against the wall by the wavering sound waves. It was fantastic. What an experience!“

Klaus Voormann (Übersetzung): „Heute vor 55 Jahren wurde Instant Karma veröffentlicht. Wie schnell kann man sein?! Alles an ein und demselben Tag: Song schreiben, aufnehmen, abmischen – mit Chor und allem drum und dran – und die Platte schneiden! Und für mich war es das erste Mal, dass ich den erstaunlichen Phil Spector in Aktion erlebt habe. Als der Backing Track fertig war, wurden wir in den Regieraum gebeten. Die Lichter blinkten, und der Raum war mit einer ganzen Reihe von Aufnahmegeräten gefüllt. Phil drückte auf den „Go“-Knopf und drehte die Lautstärke auf volle Pulle. John und Yoko hielten sich aneinander fest, und die Band wurde von den wogenden Schallwellen gegen die Wand gedrückt. Es war fantastisch. Was für ein Erlebnis!“
