Pressetext: Das 1965er-Album “Beach Boys’ Party!” wurde remixed, remastert und erweitert zu BEACH BOYS’ PARTY! UNCOVERED AND UNPLUGGED. Zum 50jährigen Jubiläum erscheint es als Doppel-CD und enthält 81 Songs und Sprachtracks. Am 4. März erscheint die Vinyl Edition mit 12 Tracks, remixed and remastered im “Uncovered and Unplugged”-Style.

Beatles Museum:
1965: BRIAN WILSON (zu dieser Zeit 25 Jahre alt) teilt mit, dass er keine Songs mehr über “kleine Mädchen am Strand” schreiben will. Stattdessen will er das “größte Rockalbum der Geschichte machen”. Das dauert aber seine Zeit. (Das Album PET SOUNDS erscheint am Montag, 16. Mai 1966.)
Die Plattenfirma Capitol Records will aber für das Weihnachtsgeschäft 1965 ein neues Album der BEACH BOYS veröffentlichen – obwohl bereits innerhalb von nur drei Jahren schon zehn LPs erschienen sind, darunter auch ein Live- und ein Weihnachtsalbum. Ein Album mit den größten Hits ist zu der Zeit dann üblich, wenn die großen Erfolge anfangen auszubleiben. Das ist bei den BEACH BOYS Mitte der 1960er Jahre nicht der Fall.
So besinnt man sich darauf, so etwas wie “partylike” ein Live-Album im Studio aufzunehmen – hauptsächlich mit akustischen Instrumenten. Deshalb werden Coverversionen von bekannten Songs eingespielt. Einige stammen aus den 1950er Jahren, die zu diesem Zeitpunkt aktuellen sind die drei BEATLES-Titel I Should Have Known Better, Tell Me Why (beide vom 1964er Film A HARD DAY’S NIGHT und gleichnamigen Album) und You’ve Got to Hide Your Love Away (vom 1965er Film HELP! und gleichnamigen Album).
Alle Titel, die die BEACH BOYS einspielen sind “trockene” Studioproduktionen, denn die Partygeräusche nehmen die BEACH BOYS später auf; mit dabei sind Ehefrauen bzw. Freundinnen, Verwandte und Freunde.

ca. Ende 1965/Anfang 1966: Die LP schafft in den US-Billboard-Charts Platz 6 und in England Platz 3.

2015: Das Album wird neu abgemischt, remastert und um (alle?) 1965 nicht veröffentlichte Aufnahmen erweitert. Letztlich beinhaltet die 2015er Doppel-CD insgesamt 81 Tracks, hauptsächlich Songs aber auch Auszüge aus Gesprächen (darunter auch die drei BEATLES-Songs, die 1965 veröffentlicht wurden, sowie weitere Versionen davon und den Titel Ticket To Ride). Die später erschienene 2016er Vinyl-LP ist identisch mit der von 1965; beinhaltet also die gleichen Songs (darunter auch die drei BEATLES-Songs). Jedoch sind alle Titel überarbeitet und tragen als Zusatz “Party! session mix”.
